During the implementation of a comprehensive action plan on realization the project “Development of export potential of the beef” for 2011-2015, approved by Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated July 29, 2011 for №877, identified a number of factors constraining the development of cattle breeding and beef production industry.
One factor hampering the development of industrial production of beef is the lack of capacity for fattening cattle, having the ability to produce fattening cattle using advanced technologies, which will allow to produce a high quality product at low cost and in a short period of time.
In this regard, JSC “KazAgroӨnіm” in the current year in order to build the infrastructure for the industrial fattening of cattle and increasing the volume of export-oriented production of beef launched a program of construction of feedlots with capacity of 3,000 cattles.
For financing activities implemented under this program through JSC “KazAgro” allocated 2 billion. tenge.
Order of the Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated February 26, 2015 №3-4 / 14 established a working group to develop the basic requirements of technical specifications for investment projects for the construction of feedlots and develop a mechanism for their financing (hereinafter the Working Group).
The Working Group, considering the state of the raw material and food resources, existing capacity requirements on industrial fattening and specifics of the region, has made the selection of 10 counterparties.
In August of this year will begin construction of a number of feedlots in the southern region
The implementation of these investment projects on construction of feedlots with capacity of 3,000 cattles will reduce the needs of regions in feedlots first category (capacity of 3000 cattles or higher), and will also ensure the implementation of fattening cattle by intensive beef production technology and low cost.
