Monitoring of prices for main food products according to “Kazagromarketing” JSC for the period from December 30, 2014 to January 6, 2015 by regions:
For the period under consideration in all regions prices for dairy and meat products had no significant (more than 10%) changes.
In the line of grocery products there was a decrease in prices for wheat flour of the first grade in Astana by 15% from 119 to 101 tenge/kg. The reason is decrease in average wholesale prices by 9% from 82 to 75 tenge/kg.
Rye-wheat bread has risen in price in Uralsk by 13% from 100 to 113 tenge/kg. The reason for rising prices – increase of the selling (wholesale) prices by manufacturers of products by 9% from 96 to 105 tenge/kg.
In Almaty apples fell by 12% and pears by 14%. This is due to saturation of the market with products and wholesale prices decline by suppliers by 3% for apples, 4% for pears.
Tomatoes rose in Kyzylorda (+13%), Karaganda (+12%), Astana (+11%) and Uralsk (+11%). The rise in prices is associated with the reduction in supply and an increase in wholesale prices by product suppliers in Kyzylorda by 14% from 350 to 400 tenge/kg, in Karaganda by 13% from 350 to 395 tenge/kg, in Astana by 7% from 600 to 640 tenge/kg, and in Uralsk by 11% from 335 to 373 tenge/kg.
Cucumbers fell in Shymkent by 14%. Decrease in wholesale prices by suppliers by 4% from 280 to 270 tenge/kg and increased supplies of cucumbers in the market has led to cheaper products.
The reduction in the supply of products and increase in wholesale prices has led to a rise in price of cucumbers in Karaganda by 12% from 399 to 446 tenge/kg, in Ust-Kamenogorsk by 11% from 573 to 636 tenge/kg.
Grapes for the week rose in price in Astana by 92% and in Uralsk by 19%. The reason is saturation of the market with more expensive imported products. Wholesale prices rose this week in Astana by 64% from 468 to 768 tenge/kg, in Uralsk by 19% from 457 to 543 tenge/kg.
