Favorable location of Kazakhstan between Europe and Asia makes it a convenient logistical hub for inland transportation. It is no accident that the ancient Great Silk Road passed through this land.
Kazakhstan has already opened a dry port “Khorgos — Eastern gates” with the capacity of 4.4 million tons of cargo per annum.
With the efforts of several countries, a large-scale project called the New Silk Road is in progress. It will ensure railroad transportation between China and Europe through Kazakhstan and Russia.
The only sea port of Kazakhstan, Aktau, is located at the eastern seaboard of Caspian Sea and operates for international transportation of various dry cargo, crude oil and oil products. It operates throughout the year.
